03.01.20 – Statement from the Tenants of Central Pier
It is with a sense of disbelief that we confirm that the 8 businesses on Central Pier will remain shut following a decision from Development Victoria to permanently close the Pier.
The safety of the 1300 staff members and customers has always been our number one priority and it is clear now that tens of thousands of people have been put at serious risk over a long period of time due to Development Victoria and its failure to maintain Central Pier.
We are extremely disappointed with the timing of today’s rushed announcement given that Victoria is in a state of emergency and all attention is rightly and properly on the devastating bushfires across Victoria and NSW.
We asked that the announcement be held off until the fire threat subsides and to allow us time to inform our workers and clients, but Development Victoria refused. Despite this, we will not be holding any press conferences until after the fire threat has subsided.
Thank you to the tens of thousands of people from across Australia who have come forward and supported the businesses and workers on Central Pier. We will be contacting any impacted clients shortly however in the meantime please direct any questions to info@atlanticgroup.com.au.
Our thoughts remain with the firefighters, their families and everyone affected by the devastating fires across Victoria and NSW.

24.09.19 – Statement from Atlantic Group
This afternoon we received notification from Development Victoria that Central Pier will remain closed until at least January 6, 2020.
We are bitterly disappointed by this news and remain frustrated by the lack of support and transparency displayed by Development Victoria throughout this process.
The safety of the 1,300 staff who work on Central Pier remains our number one priority.
Atlantic Group has already relocated hundreds of functions from Shed 14 to other venues and remains focused on ensuring that our clients receive an experience that is worthy of the Atlantic Group brand while we work through this matter.
Rest assured our team will continue to work alongside wedding, corporate and social clients to ensure all events through to the end of 2019 are relocated as quickly as possible with seamless interruption. We have many venues that have agreed to let us cater within their spaces and we are focused on working with those venues as a matter of priority to facilitate the relocations.
We thank everyone for their understanding and patience. If you have concerns or questions please reach out via info@atlanticgroup.com.au
